The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Five cover illustrations for comedy science fiction series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy written by Douglas Adams.
Kein & Aber is a Swiss publishing house based in Zurich. They asked me to create five cover illustrations for Douglas Adams' series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. We choose a very limited colour palette and minimalist aesthetics, with the illustrations giving an impression of a cut out paper.
I had lots of fun reading all the five novels and creating simple yet meaningful visuals. My big inspiration for that project was Oskar Schlemmer's Triadic Ballet (1926). Below you can see my initial sketches and ideas for the covers.
