Series of illustrations inspired by a beautiful Kabuki play Sagi Musume and its performer Bandō Tamasaburō.

Bandō Tamasaburō is one of the most popular Kabuki actors and very celebrated onnagata (an actor specializing in female roles). His beautiful, mesmerizing dance Sagi Musume (Heron Maiden) and the wonderful afternoon I spent in Kabuki-za Theatre in Tokyo inspired me to create these illustrations.
