The Village Voice
Editorial illustration for New York's legendary The Village Voice, commissioned for the Arts & Artists section and a feature on the Metropolitan Opera.
Salome had fascinated me long before this commission - years of research during my academic career, the biblical princess, the severed head, the mythology surrounding her. When the assignment arrived, there was wonderfully nothing left to research.
The illustration was later shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2017.
